BRANDI GLANVILLE, ‘HOUSEWIFE’
‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Brandi Glanville stopped by to promote her new book, ‘Drinking and Tweeting.’ Howard said he was a big fan: “You’re the best person. You’re the most interesting.” Brandi said she’d earned just $18K (total) for her 1st season as the show’s best: “These women are just horrible…I don’t know if they’re jealous of me or just didn’t want me there.”
This past season, she’s done much better: “They upgraded me to a full-time Housewife so now I got $136,000 this year.” And the pay is just the start: “It gives you a platform to do a book, and you’re getting wine deals and you’re getting appearance fees. … People are just throwing money at you. They’re going, ‘Do you wanna go here for ten grand?’” Brandi said she’ll hold out for $250K next year: “I want what they’re getting. I feel like I work hard.”

Whoopi has the day off. Actress Teri Hatcher is a guest co-host. I haven’t seen her in awhile and her face looks…very Botoxed. Barb said she’s hot. Sherri agreed and Hasselbeck said something about searching “for mine”. They then discussed this Season’s upcoming finale of “Desperate Housewives”. Teri said a lot of things will be happening on the show this Sunday.
The first topic of the day was Arnold Schwazenegger and Maria Shriver seperating after 25 years of marriage. Joy joked how they were in a mixed marriage (Democrat/Republican) Sherri said it’s sad seeing people who you think have gotten over the hump and this happens. Hasselbeck said anyone who is married is operating in fear of divorce. Teri said she wonders why people would divorce at that age. Barb said Marie is intelligent and beautiful and has at least 35 more years to have a whole other life.
Next topic was the conspiracy theories surrounding the death of bin Laden. One claims bin Laden’s body has been on ice for years, while some say he’s still alive. Sherri said people will start saying they saw him in New Jersey. Joy talked about the 9/11 deniers who believe the government was involved as well as the birthers. Barbara wondered if President Obama will show photos of bin Laden dead. Sherri said no, because it won’t shut people up. Read the rest of this entry »

The first topic of discussion was whether or not the White House should release the pictures of bin Laden after he’d been shot to death. Barbara said the last time an issue like this was debated was when the pictures of Abu Gharab came out. Barb thinks the pictures of bin Laden will as well but thinks the most important thing is context and how do you explain it to young kids. Joy wonders if the release will inflame more terrorism. Sherri thinks the release will quiet some of the skeptics who don’t think he was killed. Hasselbeck wrote some weird poem to help her if her kids asked her about it.
Whoopi then talked about the “western” items found in Laden’s coupond, i.e. Coca Cola, Pepsi, high end shampoos. Barbara asked what happened to him being in a cave? Joy joked Laden was living like Hugh Hefner. Read the rest of this entry »

Betty White is the guest co-host today. At first glance, I thought she was Barbara and wondered why she was sitting in the middle as opposed to the end like she normally does.
Whoops.
Betty is currently on the TV show “Hot in Cleveland”. She also has a book out titled “If You Ask Me” Apparently, Sherri was so excited to see Betty this morning that she hugged her and left part of her “African American” makeup on her. Betty said so now she’s half Black and half White. Sherri said she’s Betty White and Betty Black.

Barbara was back from London and mentioned how on Friday’s show, the ladies all tore down the people in the royal wedding. She said she was horrified.
The first hot opic of the day was the killing of Osama bin Laden. Whoopi descried it as an auspicious day. She pointed out how every news paper mentioned it. Barbara noted how people have been calling President Obama a wimp and not strong on terror and said how Obama has been planning this. Joy called him brilliant. Hasselbeck mentioned something about Bush having passed the baton (to be honest, she was rambling so much that I could not really understand what she was trying to say). You would think with it being Sherri’s birthday, that would be the first mention of the day, right? Wrong.
Barbara started off discussing how she went to see Sister Act and praising Whoopi. Boy, Whoopsie must have incriminating pics of Barbara the way she was lauding the show. Hasselbeck joined in on the sucking up, calling the show “uplifting”.
Whoopi finally got around to acknowledging Sherri by saying how nice she looked in purple. That was when Sherri announced it was her favorite color and it’s her birthday.Sherri had a fedora on that upcoming guest, Charlie Wilson, gave to all the hosts.
Next topic was Barbara snagging an interview with Elton John and his partner. It also features their baby, who was born via surrogate. Her interview will air tonight on 20/20.

The audience was filled with members of the military and their families. Barbara told them “You stood up for us, I’d like all of us to stand up for you”. Then all the hosts stood for them.
Hasselbeck said she was excited to see the First Lady and started telling her story about her daughter making a cards for Sascha and Malia Obama. One said what a good president Obama is and the other said Obama is so brave.
They then started discussing soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live being canceled. Joy said those were the only soaps she knew as a child and adult. Barbara sites the reason the shows are ending are because of the reality shows. Sherri said as a little girl, she would sit and watch Erica Kane while she got her hair plaited ( she pronounced it like you would “plates”, which I’d never heard said like that before)
Whoopi then started talking about how Disney gives money to military families. However, she was so horrible in reading the prompter that she screwed up what she was saying. I have no idea what she was talking about – I think it has to do with giving money or books away.

The opened the show to announce that First Lady Michelle Obama and wife of Vice Presidnt Dr. Jill Biden will appear as guests on Monday’s show.
Whoopi then said for the air traffic controllers to wake up. This is in reagrds to the latest incident where yet another air traffic controller was found to be asleep on the job. She said this is very nerve wrecking, as she already has issues with flying on airplanes. Sherri said she always prays for the people responsible for manning the airport. Hasselbeck talked about how the employees are overextended and that the Department of Transportation needs to get there and do a serious evaluation (ya mean regulations? Boooo! Hisssssss!) Whoopi talke about how air traffic control jobs are really stressful. She also (rightly) noted that the issue of them being underpaid started with Ronald Reagan. Hasselbeck said that was years ago and if it needed to be fixed there were opportunities to do so. Sherri said her cousin Tanika is looking for a job and works well under pressure. Then Whoopi started joking that she doesn’t want to know a Tanika or Shanika is in the control tower but would be fine with a Miss Alice. I’m not quite certain what she meant by that, really. It was an…odd….statement to make.

The first topic of the day was Jennifer Lopez being voted the Most Beautiful Person by People magazine. When asked what she attributes her winning looks, she said she thinks it’s due to her having a lot of love in her life. They showed various pictures of her over the years where she still looked gorgeous. Hasselbeck said she liked how open Jennifer was in describing her beauty regimines. Sherri thinks when you’re in a happy marriage, it brings out something in you. Joy doesn’t believe that to be true, saying she never looked better until after her divorce. Barb pointed out that in the same magazine issue, they had a section called “Beautiful Minds”. The three picks were Anna Patton, Tatiana Ali and Jordana Brewster., all of whom had gone to college. Barb questioned whether you have to have gone to college to have a beautiful mind. She also said all of them have beautiful minds. (El Oh El)
They then talked about the outrage that has erupted in D.C. over the ban of chocalate milk in schools. Proponents argue that it has been a good source for Vitamin D. Officials say the high fructose corn syrup makes it an unhealthy alternative. Joy wonders why they can’t have milk with the Hershey’s syrup. Whoopi talked about high fructose corn syrup, the controversy surrounding it and how we’ve started using it in place of sweetner because it’s cheap. She noted that it is not used in Europe. Barb said this has become a political issue with and talked about First Lady’s campaign to combat childhood obesity. Whoopi said she doesn’t want the government to tell her she can’t eat Fritos. Hasselbeck talked about Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution show where he talks about childhood obesity and how much sugar is in lunches. Whoopi said if parents are concerned with what their kids are eating, they should speak up. She said Jaimie came all the way over from London to address this and is being shut down. The first topic of the day was Donald Trump’s “war of words” with Bill Cosby. This was in response to Cosby not believing Trump is running for president and is just doing this for attention. Trump’s response was that Cosby is a two-faced phony. who has been nice to him before. Joy speculated that maybe was nice to Trump before he said the things he has and is now speaking out against it. Hasselbeck thinks Trump is running but is making a mistake running on the birther platform instead of being able to create more jobs than the president. Why she’s not asking why the House is not creating jobs like they said they would is beyond me. Sherri asked if Trump has created more jobs than Obama. Whoopi thinks you can still respect someone and disagree with them, citing Trump’s last appearance and calling him out on his nonsense. She said she still likes him. Barb said she like Donald but he is thin skinned. She also stated that if they say something against him that they are a little afraid because you hear from his office (very illuminating statement). She added that if he’s serious about running, he’s going to have a lot more people than them and Bill Cosby [criticizing] and it goes with the territory. Joy talked about how she’s said something about Donald not running and immediately received a phone call from him. She compared him to a crank caller who knows your name. Hasselbeck defended Trump, asking why Joy would not respect the fact that he called saying that’s a good thing. Maybe Joy should play pretend phone tag like Hasselbeck did to Chelsea Clinton. Joy just pointed out that Trump gets mad when you say something about him.

The first topic of the day was Barbara helping honor Regis Philbin at the TV Land Award Show last night. She was the presenter of the award. She also mentioned she saw Bill Cosby there, as well as the other actors from The Cosby Show.She talked about how he joked that he was disturbed to see Keisha Knight Pulham (“Rudy”) drinking champaigne.
Next topic was the Royal Wedding and how she will be reporting it. Apparently it’s being said that this will be a “knees up” event. Barb looked it up and apparently it means to engage in boisterous dancing. But what was reall annoying was Barb reading the definition using an English accent.
Sherri went to see Chalie Sheen at Radio City Music Hall last Friday. She said he was saying pretty much the same thing he’s ranted the past few weeks. Sherri also said he received a lot of boos. She described him as being “all over the place”. She showed reactions before the show where some said they came to see a trainwreck.

Whoopi is wearing her usual sloppy fitting attire. Joy looks nice, I really like the color of her jacket. Sherri is wearing a peasant style top which is OK. I’m giving her points because she doesn’t look like she squeezed into it. Hasselbeck was wearing an accordian style gold lame’-ish skirt, which looks horrible. Horrible.
The first topic of the day was an event Sherri attended that benefitted Steve Harvey’s mentoring program. Apparently it featured Chris Rock, who used a lot of curse words when he was giving a speech, despite Steve Harvey censoring himself through the night. The audience loved it. Sherri wondered would they have liked it had Steve Harvey just out of the gate had not initially watched what he was saying. Joy thinks it would havce been overkill and the audience would have been used to it by then. Whoopi did not think people would have been accepting of it because she said that’s not Steve. I’m moving on because I don’t get the point of this “hot” topic and I don’t think they do either.

Sherri congratulated actress Tina Fey’s pregnancy. Tina is expecting her second baby.
The first topic of the day was Glenn Beck leaving Faux News. Whoopi wonders why. Barb said he was popular but his controversal remarks caused sponsors to pull their ads from his show. She thinks he went too far. Joy suggested that Beck should have been fired when he said President Obama was a racist and nasty comments about the victims of 911. Hasselbeck said she respects Roger Ailes and that he knew Beck was on a path to something as well as the sponsors would eventially drop out ( Wow, that was some some spin). Barb said Ailes is all about the ratings. Whoopi questioned why Beck would call Obama a racist when you consider who his mom was.
Next topic was a poll that favored Nancy Reagan as favorite American First Ladies. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton was in second place. Whoopi noted how Nancy was vilified during her time as First Lady. Barbara said they always love you more when you leave. Joy noted how people treated Hillary, saying women turned on her after Pres. Clinton cheated. Hasselbeck disputed that, saying women related to her after that. Joy correctly stated that they turned on her because they felt she should have left Pres. Clinton.

Tom, The View’s audience warm up guy, was traumatized by a 2 year old kid peeing on the street. He could not understand why he gets a ticket if he does that but the kid gets off scott free. Um, if this guy can’t tell the differnce between why he’d be ticketed if he urinated in public as opposed to a toddler doing so, he’s got bigger problems than what he’s complaining about. Hasselbeck told Tom that he’s just jealous. Sherri said she is considerate and finds a bush for Jeffrey to go on. Joy said the dealbreaker is going in the pool. Sherri said everybody goes in there, which Whoopi loudly disputed.
Today on “The View” 5 of the Real Housewives of New York appeared to promote the 4th season to premier this Thursday at 10:00 pm est. The Countess LuLu and Sonja Morgan was not present.
Jill was the first to be interviewed by Sherry by rehashing all the Bethenny drama as well as the backlash she received from the shows fans and I could not believe my ears! Jill responded to the questions regarding the argument she had with Bethenny as it was a “wink wink type of drama for the show” and said she had hoped to make up after the season ended while trying to deflect any responsibility for her lies and jealousy AGAIN! No wonder Bethenny did not accept ANY of Jill Zarin’s apologies since obviously she saw right through Jill and her lack of sincerity.
