**UPDATE** HOLY CHIT!!! Ashton Kutcher is Joining ‘Two and a Half Men’

 

It’s official folks!!  “Two and a Half Men” will resume production with the newly cast member Ashton Kutcher!!  I didn’t see this coming and don’t really know how the baby face Ashton will attempt to replace the absence of Charlie Sheen and am wondering if this is a good idea?  I would of expected a more scrappy kind of character to fill the void of the spinless chinless brother with his son who appears to be stoned to get through the day and not to forget my favorite housekeeper who keeps them all on their toes!!  

“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented ‘2.5’ team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes,” Kutcher said in a statement. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my a** off to entertain the hell out of people!”

Chuck Lorre, creator and executive producer of ‘Two and a Half Men’ sang the ‘That 70s Show’ veteran’s praises via a written statement.

“We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family,” Lorre said. “Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”

Jon Cryers statement to the new addition to the cast:

“For all the rest of the cast and crew I’m sure they are equally excited. I want to express my enormous gratitude to Charlie Sheen for eight great seasons. I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together, and I will miss him — but I’m also looking forward to this new beginning.

Ashton is an extraordinarily talented guy, and his presence will be an asset to our show. We are old friends from our male modeling days, and we’re both looking forward to being judged for our comedic artistry, as opposed to our exceptional physical beauty.”

Now that Charlie Sheen has been fired from CBS’ hit sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men,’ about the only thing that’s certain is that the actor won’t have to put on a vertical-striped shirt ever again (or, as he puts it, “for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension”). But so much else remains up in the air.

Can TV’s most popular comedy continue without TV’s highest-paid star? Will John Stamos or Rob Lowe (or another player to be named later) replace him? What sort of financial consequences is CBS facing if the lucrative, eight-season hit grinds to a halt? On the other hand, would it still be profitable to keep an aging, Sheen-free show going for a ninth year?

This episode was better than the last, in my opinion.  Jake made a new friend this episode named Elridge, and is actually from iCarly, a show my 2 year old daughter loves.  So, this kid turns out to be a bad influence, and Charlie sees  them stealing beer from the fridge, and lets them.  When Alan gets home, Charlie tells him what they are up to and Alan is stunned.  When the kids get home, they are puking and Charlie comes in to rub it in (while being intoxicated.)

The next morning, Eldridge’s mother comes to get him and Alan says that he’s going to give it to her because this is poor parenting until he opens the door.  Courtney Thorne Smith (According to Jim & Melrose Place) is Eldridge’s mother.  In trying to impress her he says that Eldridge was perfect.  As Eldridge and his mom were going to the car, you can tell their relationship is anything but perfect.

Alan admits that he finds Eldridge’s mother quite attractive and Charlie advises him to not go down that road.  Alan’s shock of “that’s the pot calling the kettle black” look forces Alan to list all of the women that Charlie has gotten involved with pertaining to Jake (teacher, aunt, ballet teacher, cub scouts teacher, etc.)  However, while eating dinner, she ends up calling Alan requesting to go out to dinner.

So they are out at dinner and talking about the hardship of being a single parent while understanding the rewards (total bs…..).  Then it moves to them having dirty public bathroom sex with the toilet bowl flushing (motion sensor) and to hearing Courtney Thorne Smith saying call me a dirty mom.   She got into character!

Back at the Malibu house, Jake and Eldridge had snuck out from grounding with two 16 year old girls only to get caught by Uncle Charlie.  Charlie spots them, (drunk uncle charlie) and wrangles them into the house to hear his new jingle for a show.  Once they tell him how great it is, he lets them leave.

The show ends with Alan sneaking in asking Charlie to cover for him with Jake.  Once Alan goes to bed, Jake sneaks in asking Charlie to cover for him too.  It was a cute episode and nice to see Alan getting some for once… but, she’s too pretty so something’s up.   I wonder if she has her son casing the house or something….   we will see!
