#AmericanIdol Season 12 Top 10 Performs While Nicki Minaj Runs Late – Girls Rocked This Round #TVTIME101 (Video)

American Idol Nicki Late2

Last night on “American Idol”, we learned that Mariah Carey is not THE diva on the set of the show while Nicki Minaj fails to appear the live opening show on time.  She did appear eventually donning a black hoody and some strange sunglasses which she may of thought she was incognito.  Remember when you were late for class and you would slink in and pretend you were invisible?  That is what came to mind.

Here is the video recap with Ryan Seacrest.

Individual Performances Below:

American Idol Season 12 #IdolSuddenDeath P4 Results Top 20 Completed (Video) #TVTIME101

Sudden Death Round 4

American Idol’s‘s list of the top 10 men is complete!

American Idol has been on the air for 12 seasons. From the early days of Kelly Clarkson, the judges continually hounded the contestants on song choice.  Simon Cowell (remember him?) would criticize contestants for being “cabaret,” “old-fashioned” and, worst of all, “boring.” Some of this season’s contestants have been watching Idol since they were in elementary school, which makes it all the more inexplicable that they still choose to sing songs like Peggy Lee’s “Fever,” which is 57 years old.

Previous Recaps:

Part 1

Part 2

American Idol Zoanette Johnson

American Idol’s‘s list of the top 10 women is complete!

After the first week of sudden-death rounds, the judges gave their stamp of approval to five more female singers Wednesday night. And they sent five others home.

Here are the five contestants who are moving on in the competition:

Zoanette Johnson: The Tulsa resident, 20, was the first to be put through by the judges, who showered her with praise for singing a spirited version of “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. Keith Urban declared her “queen of the jungle.” Nicki Minaj told Zoanette, “You make me so emotional … You’re the person we’re going to remember tonight.”

Aubrey Cleland: After singing a slowed-down version of Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams,” Mariah Carey told Cleland, 19, “You’re limitless.” Nicki and Randy Jackson pointed out her commercial appeal. “Lookin’ like a current artist, soundin’ like one, feelin’ like one,” said Nicki of the performance.

Candice Glover: Taking on Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” paid off for the singer, 23, who earned a standing ovation from Keith. Randy said she was “one of my favorite singers in the whole competition.”

American Idol Season 12 Top 40 #IdolSuddenDeath P2 Winners And Losers (Video) #TVTIME101

American Idol Sudden Death Round 2

On Wednesday, 10 women sang for five spots on American Idol‘s live shows. On Thursday, it was the remaining guys’ turn.

The judges have their own euphemisms when they don’t like a performance – it’s usually easy to read between the lines: If they compliment a singer on his shoes, he won’t advance. On Thursday, Nicki Minaj actually told a contestant, “Kudos to you for being really freshly, nicely groomed.” They might as well have had a stagehand pull him offstage with an oversized vaudeville hook.

After several weeks of good behavior by the judges, Thursday’s episode showed a spark of life when Nicki – who was wearing her very best Jan Brady wig – began rolling her eyes whenever Randy Jackson spoke. At one point, Ryan Seacrest even tried to get them to kiss and make up. There was talk about lipstick, and Mariah Carey did her best to look at anything other than the awkward air kiss that followed.

But the theatrics did not eclipse some solid singers – and a few performances that just weren’t good enough for the competition.

The Good:

Curtis Finch Jr. wowed judges with his version of Luther Vandross’s “Superstar.” It was oversung. But there was no denying Finch’s vocal talent.

Charlie Askew’s rendition of Elton John’s “Rocketman” was interesting and well-suited to his voice.

American Idol Season 12 Top 40 Goes To #SuddenDeath – Winners And Losers (Video) #TVTIME101

Posted by ImaJustSaying on February 21, 2013

Sudden Death Round 1

American Idol threw yet another new twist at its 40 remaining contestants: a sudden-death round.

Five women moved on, five went home.

“One song, one chance, no mercy,” Ryan Seacrest said as the first group of 10 female contestants gathered in Las Vegas to try to finally sing their way – in front of a boisterous studio audience – through to the “America votes” phase of the competition.

Kentucky high school junior Jenny Beth Willis, whose rendition of a Trisha Yearwood song earned mixed reviews from the judges, was the first up. Although Keith Urban appreciated her “effortless confidence,” Nicki Minaj said her performance lacked excitement (a comment that elicited the first audience boos of the season). Final result: It was the end of the road for Willis.

Tenna Torres, 28, – who attended Mariah Carey’s camp for kids as a youngster – took the stage next and impressed the judges with her take on the Natasha Bedingfield’s “Soulmate.” But she lost style points with Minaj, who didn’t like one particular aspect of her look. “Lose the hair,” said Minaj, who felt the contestant’s coif aged her. Final result: She made it through to the Top 20.

Kree Harrison Performs in Hollywood: Solo Round – Hollywood Week – AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 12 #TVTIME101

Posted by ImaJustSaying on February 15, 2013

Kree Harrison

Kree Harrison steps up to center stage for her chance to advance to the next round. Was her rendition of “Stars” by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals enough to send her through?  Of course.  She has a heart breaking background which American Idol loves.  And she sings passionately as well.

Angela Miller Performs in Hollywood: Solo Round – Hollywood Week – AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 12 My FAV! (So Far)

Posted by ImaJustSaying on February 15, 2013

Angela Miller solo week

Angela Miller knew performing her own song was a risk that she was willing to take. Did the gamble pay off enough to send her through to the next round?  I think she will certainly end up in the final 4 if she keeps this type of performances up.  This is incredibly beautiful.

Ok Folks.. another night of American Idol and James is now becoming a god to me.  His performance has been flawless and now this week he decides not to bring out the glitz and drums and just plain ol sing.  And how he did sing.   I am so rooting for this kids and want the best for him.  I also want him to make enough money to fix his snaggle toof as well.  Winners must be pretty.  Atleast in the teef department.

American Idol 7 Finalists Performances and My Favorite Pick! with video

Posted by ImaJustSaying on April 20, 2011

James Durbin blew the roof off the ‘American Idol‘ auditorium tonight with his amazing rendition of the Platinum-certified Muse song ‘Uprising.’

Everyone went crazy for Durbin’s performance, and Randy Jackson even told Durbin that Muse singer Matt Bellamy wrote saying he was going to challenge Durbin to a sing-off! Jackson continues, “I think I am going to go out on a limb and say this is probably gonna be the best performance of the night.” Jennifer Lopez agrees, saying she loved Durbin’s theatrics and high notes.

Glee Recap – The Substitute

Posted by ImaJustSaying on November 17, 2010

Hey Gleeks!  This recap is going to be written in the style of the person who narrates what happened on previous episodes “what you missed” and as he speaks really fast, I envision the script doesnt have any pauses or periods in it.  So.. read real fast!

I really thought I would not like this weeks episode because I couldnt picture Gweneth Paltrow fitting into the Glee club but I was actually surprised that yet again I was watching Glee and thoroughly enjoying it as usual as we see Sue Sylvester uses a sick student sneeze on the  principle Figgins and susequently on Mr. Schuester in order to get them both out of the school as sick so she can implement her evil plan of taking over the school which the first thing she implements is a healthy school lunch program which irates Mercedes and interferes with her daily does of tater tots and loses her mind and now the students parents approve of the school program which gets principle Figgins  fired whom she would replace and then personally fire Mr Shuester and replace him with a substitute Holly Holiday (Gweneth Paltrow) which the kids really seem to love and who’s style of teaching is doing what ever the kids want to in order to stay alive in a highschool riddled with bullies and hormones and testosterones that make kids go crazy so now Glee kids are sad to see Mr Shuester go and implore the new principle Sue Sylvester to bring back Mr Shuester while at the same time the new substitute Holly Holiday (Gwenenth Paltrow) is  being held responsible for allowing Mercedes to plug up Sue Sylvesters car’s tail pipe with a buttload of tater tots and now the repair bill is 17,000 buckaroonies which gets the substitue Holly Holiday  (Gweneth Paltrow) fired from the Glee Club and Mr. Shuester reinstated.

And thats what you missed.

Glee Episode Never Been Kissed

Posted by ImaJustSaying on November 10, 2010

For all you Gleek’s, I thought I would post my favorite performance of last nights Glee.

The guys had to perform a song that is written for girls and the girls had to perform a Rock N Roll song.

The girls performed “Living On A Prayer” mashed with “Start Me Up” and its another mashup home run.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am so noticing Brittany Pierce (Heather Morris) for her performance.  She is as dull as ditchwater in her non performing character, which is intentional but when she performs she stand out above them all.  Some interesting facts about the Glee Character and the Actress after the video.
