What’s New On TV Tonight This Week? Week of 5/30/2011 Check It Out Here!

Posted by ImaJustSaying on May 31, 2011

Maybe Board Games Instead Of TV?

TUESDAY, MAY 31

‘America’s Got Talent’ (8PM, NBC) season premiere
It wouldn’t be summer TV without some singing, dancing, death-defying acrobatics, and self-mutilation of some sort. In other words, it’s time for a new season of ‘America’s Got Talent.’ From now until early September, crazed audiences will break out in standing ovations for the hundreds of competitors who face the itchy button fingers of Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and Howie Mandel. However, only one will be named America’s newest talent.

‘NBA Finals’ — It’s the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. (9PM, ABC)

‘Great Performances’ — A celebration of Carnegie Hall’s 120th anniversary, featuring performances by the New York Philharmonic, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Audra McDonald. (8PM, PBS)

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ – Game Night #1  ’20/20′ — A look at the booming business of reality TV in the U.S. (8PM, ABC)

‘Lee & Grant’ — Profiles of Civil War generals Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant are presented, including their important victories, defeats and their affect on American history. (9PM, History)

‘The Voice’ — The last of the battle rounds concludes, leaving the remaining contestants prepped to fight for the grand prize. (10PM, NBC)

‘The Little Couple’ — In their continuing quest to have a baby, Bill and Jen are heartened by the discovery of two mature eggs. (10PM, TLC) season 4 premiere

‘Deception With Keith Barry’ — Mentalist Keith Barry explores the art of deception in this new series. In the opener, Barry focuses on experiments with mass hypnosis and sleeper agents. (10PM, Discovery) series premiere

WEDNESDAY, JUNE1

‘Franklin & Bash’ (9PM, TNT) series premiere
When you want a team of lawyers to handle your case, you don’t want those serious, uptight attorneys you see on all of the procedural dramas. You want a team who holds weekly margarita parties and picks up pizza deliveries in the nude. Which means you need Franklin & Bash, the newest defenders of the truth in the television universe. Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who previously played a rambunctious attorney on TNT’s ‘Raising the Bar,’ pairs up with Breckin Meyer for this legal dramedy.

‘Men of a Certain Age’ — The Middle-Aged Three return to TNT for a new slate of episodes. In the opener, Joe visits his bookie friend, who is preparing himself for a medical treatment, and Owen gets an interesting proposal from an opposing dealership. (10PM, TNT) summer season premiere

‘MythBusters’ — Adam and Jamie try to determine if one person can dodge a bullet. At 10PM is ‘MythBusters: The Funeral.’ (9PM, Discovery)

‘The Real World’ — The Las Vegas housemates pack up and say good-bye to each other as the 25th season ends. (10PM, MTV) season finale

‘The World According to Paris’ — Paris Hilton returns to reality TV in this solo project documenting her daily life. In the premiere, a scare by an armed man breaking into her house prompts Paris to move in with her sister. (10PM, Oxygen) series premiere

THURSDAY, JUNE 2

‘Love Bites’ (10PM, NBC) series premiere
Back in 2010, NBC promoted the new series ‘Love Bites’ as their modern answer to ‘Love, American Style.’ Then one of the actresses left the show and the other got pregnant. Soon enough, ‘Love Bites’ wasn’t the answer to anything. Still, the show is worth a look as it stars TV vets Constance Zimmer, Becki Newton and Greg Grunberg in a series of stories about romance in the big city.

‘National Spelling Bee’ — The championship rounds of the 84th annual competition get the primetime treatment in a live telecast from the Washington D.C. area. (8:30PM, ESPN)

‘Children’s Hospital’ — The mildly insane doctors of Children’s Hospital return for another season of trying to cure patients without killing them first. (Midnight, Adult Swim) season 3 premiere

‘Death of a Mars Rover’ — The story of NASA’s two Mars rovers — Spirit and Opportunity — and how they continued reporting data seven years past their 90-day lifetime. (8PM, NatGeo)

‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ — The final two crews step off in a final battle to determine who is America’s best. (10PM, MTV)

‘NY Ink’ — ‘Miami Ink’ alum Ami James heads to New York to open up a new tattoo parlor. (10PM, TLC) series premiere

‘Pride Comedy Jam’ — Gay and lesbian comedians perform stand-up routines. Performers include Suzanne Westenhoefer, Nico Santos and Julie Goldman. (10:30PM, Showtime)

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

‘Young Justice’ (7PM, Cartoon Network)
Its been some time since we’ve seen new episodes of this series and it has been missed. While some die-hard DC Comics fans are unhappy in the way their favorite teen heroes are being portrayed, there are others who are embracing the new adventures of Robin, Kid Flash, Superboy, Aqualad, Artemis and Miss Martian. If you haven’t gotten a taste of the series, take a look this evening. It may cure the anxiety you have until the new ‘Green Lantern’ movie premieres.

‘Camelot’ — King Arthur heads out to defend Bardon Pass from a large-scale attack. This, while Merlin is victimized by a shape-changing Morgan. (10PM, Starz)

‘CMT’s Next Superstar’ — The final two contestants perform three songs each in front of an audience at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. (9PM, CMT)

‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution’ — The show returns from hiatus, only to find Jamie blocked from serving food at one of L.A.’s preparatory high schools. (9PM, ABC)

‘Whale Wars’ The battle for the survival of whales begins anew when the Sea Shepherds, in their new vessel, try to prevent harpoon ships from killing these giants of the ocean. (9PM, Animal Planet) season 4 premiere

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, JUNE 4-5

‘Teen Wolf’ (Sunday, 11PM, MTV) series premiere
Thought there’s a good deal of new material on Sunday, and this technically doesn’t fall into primetime, the decision to give MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’ the spotlight is, well, because of its legacy. Plenty of people remember watching Michael J. Fox capture the role in the ‘Teen Wolf’ movie and are probably interested in seeing how it’s going to play on the small screen. From the previews of the show it doesn’t look like protagonist Scott will be playing too many basketball games. If anything, he’s going to spend most of the time trying not to eat his friends and family.

‘Doctor Who’ — The Doctor tries to mediate an agreement between factory workers and their doppelgangers to overcome a crisis of their own making. (Sat., 9PM, BBC America)

‘Surviving D-Day’ — The unconventional tactics used in the D-Day invasion are examined. (Sat., 9PM, Discovery)

‘Red Factor: Origins’ — Set in the world of the ‘Red Faction’ video game, the movie portrays the battle for Mars’ freedom 25 years after it was liberated from Earth’s grasp. (Sat., 9PM, SyFy)

‘The Graham Norton Show’ — Guests include Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Rob Lowe. (Sat., 10PM, BBC America)

‘Ultimate Fighter’ — It’s Team Lesnar vs. Team Dos Santos in a battle royale live from Las Vegas. (Sat., 9PM, Spike) season finale

‘Niecy Nash’s Wedding Bash’ — Niecy and her fiancee are followed around as they prep for their wedding. (Sat., 8PM, TLC)

‘The Killing’ — Sarah and Holder need to move away from the investigation of Rose’s murder when Jack goes missing. (Sun., 10PM, AMC)

‘The Glades’ — Jim must solve the murder of the daughter of a Cuban mobster before a war breaks out between rival mob families. (Sun., 10PM, A&E) season 2 premiere

‘MTV Movie Awards’ — Jason Sudeikis hosts the 20th annual ceremony, with presentations by Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carrell, and Selena Gomez. (Sun., 9PM, MTV, VH1)

‘Next Food Network Star’ — The first challenge for this new group of television show potentials is to cook for members of the Hollywood press. Good luck with that! (Sun., 9PM, Food Network) season 7 premiere

‘So Random!’ — The show-within-a-show from ‘Sonny With A Chance’ gets promoted to series status now that star Demi Lovato has left. In the opener, singer Cody Simpson appears. (Sun., 8:30PM, Disney Channel) series premiere

‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ Ever the trooper, Vicki hosts her annual fall party despite just coming out of the hospital. (Sun., 10PM, Bravo) season finale
