#RHOM Lisa Hochstein Media Campaign To Push Tear Down Of Saggy Home And Build Boob Mansion #TVTIME101

Posted by ImaJustSaying on February 22, 2013

Lisa Hochstein and her husband “The Boob God” of Miami is still embroiled in a local fight with the historic preservation to tear down a broke down home they bought on Star Island in a foreclosure with intent on tearing down and building the home of their dreams as large as fake boobs will allow.

“We bought this house with the intention of building our dream home. If we knew this was going to happen, we would have never purchased this home,” Lisa Hochstein said.

The “Real Housewives of Miami” startlet is now seeking media attention to demonstrate how broke down the 88-year-old home is by trying to rip out electrical wires through the plaster thus making the home look more inhabitable.  I KID!  Well they did do that, but the home is in a serious state of disrepair and anyone with money would not want the current layout of the one room deep, “railroad” style architecture.   The property itself is as wide as the home but is deep.   A style of one room deep, does not take advantage of the property size thus having major potential for a larger home and much larger rooms.   Check the photo’s here.   The home is 88 years old and Miami is desperate to slap their “preservationists” stamp on the home with no other solution to the owners who have already laid out millions of dollars for this purchase who had no plans to sink a ton of money into a home they have no ability of remodeling in order to please the “Preservation Society”.

In my opinion, the historic society should have purchased the home themselves or at least made the Hochstein’s aware of the restrictions of remodeling.   Not only is the property beautifully located on an exclusive island, the views are an added plus.

The Hochsteins may win this battle since the move by the preservationists group came AFTER the purchase with designs submitted.   To the Hochsteins credit, they also offered to allow the preservation group, MOVE the home to any location and help pay for it.  Unfortunately, the bridge leading out of the island may not withstand the weight of such a large (dilapidated) structure.

For more information and video of the public plea, go to the Miami Herald here.    Also, a view of the plans for the remodel is here.  The facade of the house is tweaked while the remainder of the home and depth has a completely different design to maximize the property into twice the square footage for boobalicious entertaining.  😉

Pictures and commentary from the Miami Herald:

Dr. Leonard Hochstein and his wife, Lisa Hochstein, of The Real Housewives of Miami, bought a mansion on Star Island that they say is falling apart. They want to tear it down, but preservationists want to stop the couple because they say the 88-year old home is historic. Here, a slight tug on plaster in one of the bedrooms sends chunks to the floor.

An engineering report, which has been questioned by preservationists, says that the balconies of the home at 44 Star Island are structurally unsound.

  1. I don’t have any sympathy for them.. when I met with clients who were in similar situations, the first place I started… BUILDING DEPT… duh !!!!
so they did not do their homework prior to purchase..
SOUTH FLA BUILDING CODED ARE TOUGH….
People should try and follow my 6 P’S of life

PROPER PLANNING PREVENTS PISS POOR PERFORMANCE…..
even the ex mrs woods (elin) did her homework before she bought and tore down a house here built in 1928….. it’s a shame that folks with $$$ lack common sense…

    whoot whoot
    hugs and peace
    diva

    • I dont know DD. The Preservation org did not move in to stop the rebuild until after they made the purchase and submitted plans. Now I get what you are saying that they should of done their homework while knowing they home was built 88 years ago and had some history to it. But.. a house built from boobs sounds interesting.. I am wondering if the steeples will be rounded. 😉
