Pregnant In Heels Preview – Hormones, Emotions and Drama

Last week “Pregnant in Heels” premiered to a skeptical audience and I was prepared to totally pan this show due to the ‘un-relatable’ factor but I have to say I sort of enjoyed it. It wasn’t as painful as I originally thought. What is painful is today’s episode of Dr. Phil were the mother is upset with her daughter because she won’t be a pageant queen. Now that was painful!

What the show did present us is with was ‘rich people’s problems’ and the amazement of how when people come into money, they lose their minds and acquire a sense of self-importance that is so over the top they would not be able to recognize a single person as anything but what they can do for them.
I was only imagining the cost of the hiring of the focus group to name a child and within 5 minutes I found 10 useful charitable organizations that could have benefited from the money more than 2 expecting parents who are planning a child’s future before then child is even born and can even decide what his favorite color is!
Last week, a client of Rosie named Sarah, did not have any connection to her unborn child and Rosie saw the need to bring in a therapist to help identify why she was not excited or even shopped for the baby due in 4 weeks. I really thought Sarah was going to deck Rosie and throw out the therapist since she appeared to have some street in her, but she did eventually come around to analyzing her lack of bonding and really learned something. I can only imagine this problem is relatable and this particular woman is not unique in this issue.
Last weeks episode premiered with dismal ratings of (0.530 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T15).
There was a lot of chatter on Twitter and our site hits had the single post for the preview leading for days so I was sure the ratings would be greater. I am going to keep my finger on this show’s pulse so we may predict a renewal or cancellation.

I didn’t think it was that bad either IJS. I probably would have been in denial til the end also, and would not enjoy what pregnancy does to my body, let alone “bond” with a non-entity before it’s born. I need face time to bond with a person. Until then, it’s just an alien growing inside. The name focus group thing was a total joke though, especially since they completely rejected the choices of the FG and of their friends and went with their own stupid names of Bowen and Ascher anyway. Dumb.

I actually liked this show a lot more than expected. Rosie Pope is very endearing and funny.
