LynnNChicago Portrait of a Housewife    Taylor Armstrong – Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Taylor Armstrong, wife and mother, businesswoman and manipulator. Taylor first debuted and really didn’t make much of a splash. It appeared as though she was going to be one of those supporting housewives like Lisa from Atlanta or any number of ex-housewives from Orange County.

She seemed nice enough, the only thing that fans of the show could find to distinguish her from any other California blonde was perhaps the huge lips. Taylor was introduced as a mother from Oklahoma who likes to spend time with her daughter for fun. She runs a consulting firm and her husband Russell is a venture capitalist originally from Texas.

Taylor admits that she works really hard and plays really hard, that’s not too much of a cliché. Taylor claims she agreed to appear on the Beverly Hills housewives so that she could show the diversity of Beverly Hills women, how tough they can be and also show their soft side. Who’s buying that nonsense?

Taylor was rather dull in the beginning, she had drinks with Linda Thompson, Bruce Jenner’s ex-wife and this scene served the purpose of proving just how boring those Beverly Hills expensive lunches really are.

Then there was the 4th birthday party for her daughter, Kennedy. Reportedly priced at $60,000, this Alice In Wonderland themed party was without a doubt geared more toward the adults and meant to impress Bravo’s viewers.

With thousands spent on flowers, the venue, table settings and complete with a tea reader and live band, the children seemed more interested in the swing that hung from a tree on the property. Taylor doesn’t give out plastic whistles and little boxes of Nerds candy in her goodie bags, Kennedy’s 4 year old friends get diamond Barbie necklaces. When little Kennedy refused to have her photo taken, Taylor used the opportunity to have her own photos taken including one as she stood on top of the table.

So what do you get for a 4-year old who has everything? Apparently a puppy, against Taylor’s wishes her husband bought their daughter a cute little puppy that she named Snowball. With all the work, planning and expense that Taylor put into this ridiculous party, Russell swooped in and with one trip to the pet shop kicked that party’s ass, including the diamond Barbie necklace that the kid couldn’t care less about. She got a puppy!

Taylor has decided that her 4-year old daughter is strong willed like her husband Russell. According to Taylor, the little girl’s strength and determination allow her to always get what she wants, even if that means not going to bed at bedtime or in fact listening to her parents at all. This must be Taylor’s way of explaining away that she lets her daughter get away with anything, the child is strong willed. (more like Taylor is a lazy parent)

While we don’t hear Taylor really bashing her husband, she doesn’t have a lot of nice things to say about him and she is a master at those passive-aggressive, underhanded digs that always seem to say she’s right and he’s wrong about everything. I believe that Taylor likes the lifestyle, the money and the address and her husband is the one downside that she has to tolerate in order to have all of the other things.

One of Taylor’s statements may have sounded like a compliment, yet if you really listen, it’s a dig. “I think it’s hard for my friends to really get to know Russell, they don’t get to know him like I do and they don’t see some of the positive qualities that I saw whenever I first met him.”

Would that statement make her husband feel good, or wonder if Taylor feels those positive qualities are now long gone? Why did she have to add the “Whenever I first met him”.

The Housewives trip to Las Vegas included the husbands and Russell did accompany his wife to Vegas but did have to leave for a few hours to take care of some business. Taylor made this a really big deal and while Russell didn’t miss anything important, it seems just a few hours of lying out by the pool, still Taylor played the “poor me” card. Apparently the cure to Taylor’s blues is cotton candy, as the cameras rolled Taylor made love to the cotton candy with those enormous lips and tongue, maybe she thought she was in a porno movie rather than a Bravo reality show. She has had some practice somewhere.

There were two major fights during this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Taylor was in the center of both of them. As all of the ladies waited to board their flight to New York, the topic of discussion turned to fellow housewife Camille Grammer. All of the ladies chimed in with their opinions but it was Taylor who called Camille insecure and she also said that she thought that Camille felt “insignificant”. Taylor denied ever saying these things but repeated them to Camille later in the hotel telling Camille that it was Kyle who called her insecure.

Due to Taylor’s confession that Kyle said it, the dinner blew up into a full blown fight, Kim Richards was drawn in and asked to clear up who said what during an earlier conversation. I feel that Kim realized what Lisa Vanderpump had known since the beginning, that Taylor was the one who was stirring the pot and she called Taylor out on her part in the tension. Taylor lied, she denied saying that Camille was insecure while Bravo played the clip of Taylor saying that Camille was insecure.

Taylor’s part in this argument was subtle and a bit harder to pick up on but the clever Lisa Vanderpump rarely misses a thing and has Taylor’s number. She talked to Taylor and asked her to clear this all up with Kim Richards. Lisa wanted the two ladies to talk and clear the air.

Taylor threw digs at Lisa Vanderpump all season about her shopping addiction yet we saw Taylor shop much more than Lisa, Taylor showcased her charity on the show yet Lisa does much more charity work than Taylor, Lisa does it quietly behind the scenes while Taylor needs a pat on the back for her charity work. Lisa is highly intelligent and Taylor throws digs because she knows that she can’t pull one over on Lisa like she does with the other housewives.

The second big fight on the show was also Taylor’s doing. During her own birthday party, she decided to confront Kim Richards for her comments during the previous fight. Taylor claims that her goal was simply to tell Kim not to drag her into future arguments. As Kim was enjoying the party and talking with a friend Taylor approached her asking to speak with her. Here is where Taylor’s version of the story doesn’t make any sense. According to Taylor she was going to sit and calmly speak with Kim but Kim “Jumped up” and got in her face. Apparently Taylor doesn’t understand the concept of filming because we watched as Taylor remained standing while she stared speaking to Kim with an accusatory and aggressive tone, who in their right mind would remain seated as they are being confronted by an angry housewife with huge lips? Of course Kim stood, Taylor was standing.

Taylor’s confrontation with Kim kicked off an entire chain of events resulting in sisters Kim and Kyle Richards nearly coming to blows in a limousine while Taylor sipped Champaign at her party. Taylor took absolutely no responsibility for this fight, her attempts to come between the sisters were evident as she told Kim that Kyle would back her up and that the two of them were becoming closer friends. Kyle certainly won’t win any awards for her insight, she obviously couldn’t see what Taylor was doing. It is a good thing that Kyle Richards has a psychic because she’s lousy at reading people.

Lisa saw this from the beginning and even tried to warn Kyle that Taylor was a sneaky troublemaker. Kyle laughed it off and it resulted in a huge fight with her sister. Kim seemed to have Taylor’s number from the beginning but just wasn’t strong enough to go toe to toe with Taylor.

At the reunion Taylor once again tried to pit sister against sister by threatening to call Kim out on her drinking. Taylor turned to Kyle and asked, “Should we talk about Kim’s state of mind at the dinner table? Should I go there?” Let’s hope that someday soon Kyle will open her eyes to see what a snake Taylor really is.

Up until the final few episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Camille Grammer has been the most hated housewife but as I score it, Taylor has taken over the lead.

Off screen Taylor was filmed outside a Hollywood restaurant in October of last year completely toasted and practically making out with Kyle Richards, it doesn’t appear as though Taylor has too many friends so she’s holding onto Kyle for dear life.

The Armstrong’s have a questionable past and some wonder if they really are who they say they are. We know that Taylor has changed her name and we know that Russell has three children from three different women, one being Taylor and that he filed bankruptcy in 2006. The Armstrong’s have been married for 8-years and apparently Taylor pursued Russell and continues to be concerned that he may trade her in someday for a younger model.

We’ve also been reading reports that this couple were real scam artists in the past, name changes and odd behavior, my friend did a whole lot of research on this topic and has a fascinating blog post about this couple, it is well worth a read:

http://stoopidhousewives.com/2011/01/23/taylor-shana-hughes-taylor-ford-armstrong-part-ii/

There is no doubt that throughout the majority of the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Camille Grammer was the most hated housewife but as the season unfolds and we learn more about Taylor Armstrong, she has definitely taken over the title of the most hated housewife in Beverly Hills.

Congratulations Taylor, being a worse fiend than Camille was tough to do but you managed to do it. Will Season Two include this hated housewife? Watch what happens…

Taylor Armstrong and Faye Resnick show the love at the series party for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" at Trousdale in West Hollywood.

UPDATE:

Adding fuel to the fire, Taylor was recently called out by her friends at Bravo for lying about her child’s Godmother. During several interviews and even on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Taylor told viewers that fellow housewife Adrienne Maloof was her daughter Kennedy’s Godmother.

When Andy Cohen innocently asked Adrienne at the reunion about being Kennedy’s Godmother, Adrienne told us that while Taylor asked her to be the child’s Godmother, Adrienne felt that it should be a family member or someone closer to the family. In other words, assuming that Taylor did indeed ask Adrienne, she said no. Or more likely Adrienne was never asked to be the child’s Godmother. At the age of 4, we can assume that the child has an official Godmother, I wonder how the real Godmother feels about Taylor’s lies.

Bravo also seemed to question Taylor’s claim that she’s known Adrienne for a long time, I suppose that is a subjective term, “long time” but Adrienne explains that she’s known Taylor for about three years. I find it difficult to believe that Taylor asked Adrienne to be her 1 year old daughter’s Godmother after only just meeting this woman.

Adrienne handled the situation with style and grace, she didn’t outright call Taylor a liar, she tried to allow Taylor to save some of her dignity but the look on Adrienne’s face showed a lot of anger toward Taylor for putting her in that position. Adrienne had to either lie herself or call Taylor a liar. Adrienne was in a lose-lose situation but still handled it well.

In an outstanding video, Real City Housewife explains it all here via tvtime101:

This was good.. I thought the same thing about Tay Tay in the begining she seemed nice enough,no big deal, kinda felt bad that her husband could care less about her. I didn’t even care that she spent 60k on her childs B’Day, after all it was her childs B’Day and she could do what she wanted.
Things changed for me on their trip to NYC. I realized she is not a very nice person and a shit stirer.

Bottom line I do not like her because she is a shit stirer and was not very nice to Kim..The other stuff out there about her has not and will not change my opinion, I could care less.

  6. Lynn: Fantastic! Glad you are getting the word out about scammer Shana/Taylor… FYI… she has a ‘fan’ site, created by ‘Christine,’ a person with a ‘rare bone disease,’ and ‘Christine’ seems to know what Shana/Taylor is doing every second of the day. I don’t know about you, but I don’t call that a fan, that’s a stalker! Come on, Shana/Taylor, everyone knows that you are ‘Christine.’ Fan site: http://www.taylorarmstrongfansite.com/

Okay….I went to the Official Fan Page of Taylor Armstrong.

It is a page on Blogger.com. Now there are 10 followers–4 of them are Christine.
However if you click on Christine’s profiles, it only shows that she Joined the group, not that she owns it.
When you own a blogsite, your profile includes your own blog under “links”.
One of her profiles has a link, but it is a broken link leading to an error page, not her supposed “Official Taylor Armstrong Fan Site”.

Seriously Taylor, did you not realize that blog owners couldn’t figure that out?

Here is my question. Who are the other six people? LOL!

Wonder if any of those people will come forward…Sometimes people who have been scammed are reluctant because they’ve been made to look foolish by being gullible… Hope someone does finally set the record straight about these con artist!!!!!

  15. To LynnNChicago, We’re all wondering about Adrienne’s kids. Birthed or bought?

I actually like the article LH wrote, and stated as such @1. It reminded me of everything that went on the whole season.
My comment @7 was referring to a poster saying something about LH. getting the word out. When clearly the word has been out for quite some time about this nut. Tinsel has been on a roll about Tay Tay since a while before the season ended, uncovering everything but her underwear. Everyone one and their freakin mother is on the Tay Tay train..Me…I don’t care, I don’t like her regardless if she started her own fansite, changed her name 2 times or kicked her dog.. I just don’t like her. 🙂
